Bulky Item Removal in Paris
Getting rid of large household items in Paris can be difficult, especially if you live in an apartment without a lift or do not have access to a suitable vehicle.
TransPetiParis handles enquiries involving mattress removal, sofa collection, furniture disposal and household appliance removal. We assess the collection requirements and the possibility of transporting the items to an appropriate destination.
This service may be useful when moving out, replacing furniture, clearing a room, preparing a rental property or removing unwanted household items.
What Items Can Be Collected?
Mattress Removal Paris
Single mattresses, double mattresses, bed frames and other bulky bedroom items. Please specify the size and floor.
Sofa Removal Paris
Two-seater sofas, three-seater couches, armchairs and sofa beds. Dimensions and stair access are important.
Furniture Disposal Paris
Wardrobes, cabinets, desks, tables, shelving units and other unwanted furniture, subject to size and access conditions.
Appliance Removal Paris
Washing machines, refrigerators, freezers, dishwashers and other appliances, subject to suitable collection and treatment arrangements.
Old Mattress Removal from a Paris Apartment
A mattress can be awkward to carry through narrow staircases and apartment corridors. Before requesting collection, check its dimensions and whether it can pass through doors, stairs and shared building areas.
If you live above the ground floor, mention your floor number and whether the building has a lift large enough for the mattress.
Please also tell us if the mattress is wet, heavily damaged or affected by a suspected infestation. Such conditions may require special handling or prevent standard collection.
Sofa and Couch Removal in Paris
Removing an old sofa from a Paris apartment often requires planning around narrow doorways, staircases and limited parking.
For a sofa removal request, include the approximate length, width and height, the floor number, lift availability and whether the sofa separates into sections.
If dismantling is needed, mention this in your request so the requirements can be assessed in advance.
Old Furniture Collection and Disposal
Moving out of a flat or replacing furniture? You may need to remove an old wardrobe, a broken desk, a large table, shelving or several pieces at once.
Describe the items individually, including approximate dimensions and whether they are already dismantled. This helps assess loading space, handling requirements and destination options.
Household Appliance Removal and Recycling
Old refrigerators, washing machines and other electrical appliances should be directed towards appropriate collection and treatment channels. They should not simply be mixed with ordinary household waste.
If you need appliance removal in Paris, specify the type of appliance, its approximate size, its condition and whether it has been disconnected.
Transport to a Recycling Centre in Paris
In France, a recycling or waste collection centre is commonly called a déchetterie. Paris also provides municipal bulky-item collection options, commonly known as encombrants.
Not every recycling facility accepts every category of waste, and access rules may differ for private individuals and professional transporters.
TransPetiParis does not assume that a municipal recycling centre will accept commercially transported items. Before arranging a removal, the appropriate authorised destination, its acceptance conditions and any applicable requirements must be confirmed.
Moving Out of a Paris Apartment?
This page is intended for people who want to remove unwanted bulky items, rather than transport furniture to a new home for continued use.
If you need furniture or appliances delivered to another address, TransPetiParis also has separate transport services for that purpose.
This distinction helps ensure that your request is directed towards the correct type of collection or transport.
How to Request Bulky Item Collection
- List your items. Include the type, number and approximate size of mattresses, sofas, furniture or appliances.
- Provide your address. Include the Paris arrondissement or surrounding city and postcode.
- Describe access. Mention stairs, floor level, lift dimensions and parking restrictions.
- Choose a preferred date. Collection depends on availability and the possibility of arranging an appropriate destination.
- Receive a response. Your request can then be reviewed before any collection is confirmed.
